Shooting & Scoring

Quick release, shot accuracy, and the net-front instincts to capitalize on every chance — trained until it's automatic.

A great shot is more than power — it's timing, release point, weight transfer, and reading the goalie's position. Blueline's shooting clinics drill each component individually, then combine them under fatigue so the mechanics hold in overtime when it counts. Coach Palmquist works on wrist shots off the pass, snap shots in stride, and one-timers from the dots — all with real goalie feedback when sessions include live net time. Finishing is a skill, and it's trainable.

What's Included

  • Wrist, snap, and slap shot mechanics breakdown
  • Quick-release training from multiple zones
  • One-timer mechanics and timing with a pass feeder
  • Goalie-read tendencies and shooting to open areas
  • Scoring from in-tight and in-front of the net
  • Competitive shooting games to simulate game pressure

I sent two of my players to Derek over the summer for shooting work. Both came back with noticeably faster releases and their accuracy to corners improved significantly. One of them led our team in goals this season.
