The Problem
A growing program, stuck on a Wix site the owner never liked.
TL Elite Hockey has run small-group skill sessions at Thayer Sports Center since 2021 — a real program with a loyal base of families and a roster of coaches who played at the levels the kids are chasing. The business behind it lived on Wix: a site the owner considered poor, a branded app that families booked through, and a booking flow that was clunky for parents and hard to manage for coaches. Member accounts, contacts and prepaid session packs were all locked inside Wix, and none of it could simply be exported and turned back on somewhere else. Moving meant rebuilding the whole operation without losing the people already in it.
Our Approach
The first build reproduced the Wix design and was rejected — the point was not a faster copy of a site nobody liked. So TL Elite got its own design: a video-ready hero, a logo mark that stands on its own, and a booking flow shaped around the one thing the program sells, the small-group session, bought four different ways. Retention drove the plan. Every member and contact was migrated onto the platform, booking history was imported so a returning family sees their past sessions the moment they sign up with the same email, and open session packs redeem by code so nobody who prepaid on Wix lost a session. Nothing on the site describes itself with Wix vocabulary; it describes how TL Elite actually runs.
What We Built
- Full Wix-to-Next.js migration onto the YWF platform, with a new design in place of the Wix template
- Online booking by age group with live spots-remaining counts and a month-by-month schedule
- Session packs bought up front and redeemed by code against any drop-in date
- Video Analysis as a product: families upload a game, a coach breaks it down and they book the review call from their own page
- Member accounts with booking history that attaches automatically by email
- Gear shop for hats and tees with pickup at the rink
- Migration of every Wix member, contact and past booking, plus the cutover notice to the whole member base
- Admin back office for the coaches: schedule, bookings, players, orders and email in one place

The Result
Off Wix, on a platform built for how the program actually runs.
TL Elite cut over at the end of the summer session with its members, contacts and booking history intact. Families pick a date on a live schedule and book in under a minute, session packs still work for everyone who bought one, and video analysis is a real product instead of a favour. The coaches run the whole thing from one admin — and the site is the foundation for the mobile app that replaces the old Wix one.
